Latvia and Spain celebrate women’s berths for Tokyo 2020

Haiyang, China, September 22, 2019. Reigning European champions Tina Graudina and Anastasija Kravcenoka capped a successful two days of Beach Volleyball, as the pair became the first women’s team to qualify Latvia for the Olympics by defeating Barbora Hermannova and Marketa Slukova of the Czech Republic. Spain’s Elsa Baquerizo and Liliana Fernandez Steiner secured the other spot at stake at the Olympic qualifying event held in Haiyang, China.

All EuroVolley quarterfinals set

Luxembourg, September 22, 2019.  Seven of eight CEV EuroVolley 2019 Men quarterfinalists emerged on Saturday, as France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine celebrated victorious after their eighthfinal games. The last team with a spot among the best eight of the tournament became known on Sunday, when Italy booked their ticket to the next round.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, September 21, 2019. Estonian fans are becoming increasingly famous on the international stage – they travel extensively to follow their men’s and women’s national teams, contributing to a terrific atmosphere in the arenas that they visit. There were some 1,500 of them supporting Team Estonia at the EuroVolley Pool D matches in Amsterdam. The fans are truly special to the players and vice versa.

Italy and Latvia claim men’s Beach Volleyball Olympic berths in Haiyang

Haiyang, China, September 21, 2019. Daniele Lupo/Paolo Nicolai and Martins Plavins/Edgars Tocs secured a spot for Italy and Latvia, respectively, in the men’s Beach Volleyball competition of next year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics after emerging victorious from their respective final matches at the Olympic qualifying event in Haiyang, China. Earlier this summer, Russia’s Viacheslav Krasilnikov/Oleg Stoyanovskiy had achieved the same feat for their country as well by taking a historic gold medal at the World Championships in Hamburg.

With the 8th final matches in Ljubljana scheduled to begin on Saturday afternoon, the four eightfinallists Russia, Greece, Slovenia and Bulgaria met with the media representatives, for a last preview of #EuroVolleyM knockout phase. Greece and Bulgaria arrived here the day before and have already trained at the iconic Stozice Arena.
